There is confusion between the directions in which the knob is pressed to activate indicator and finally the direction in which the indicator glows. The indicator is shown in left and right sides whereas the knob has to be moved in up/down direction.
This particular design is observed in Maruti 800 and Opel Corsa.
To turn an indicator on for left or right side the indicator needs to be moved up/down. This is not an intuitive working. The element can be made better with a working where the mapping of direction is similar for button movement and shown indicator. An example to such working is indicator for 2 wheelers. To set aglow indicator on left side the indicator knob to be pressed to the left side!
In four wheelers the design is based on clockwise/anticlockwise motion of the knob, which could be improved by incorporating the same direction mapping.
