While sitting the knee hits at the metal section which supports the desk from underneath. It is something you cannot be careful with unless you hit there once as it is hardly visible in normal sitting position. A perfect example of poor detailing in design. Considering the size of the cubicles, it is almost inevitable and a person usually tends to do this many times in a single day. Imagine getting disturbed like this, mid way through a real important task at hand!

While sitting in office cubicle and working, last thing one would like to experience is a sudden unforeseen hit of table support. This support is no ways seen unless user kneels down and looks under the table. User thus surely chances and gets hurt. While the table does need this support, the element could be modified such that it does not come in the way of person sitting in the cubicle. The design should not create hindrances but allow freedom of movement and be convenient for the user.
The size and shape of the element could be such that it avails these features.
