Thumbnail of Access Cards usage

ID or access cards meant for security purposes are observed to have this common problem of being with their flip-side up when it is needed to show one's identity. The person wearing it needs to always keep tab of the card and flip it accordingly to show the right side up .

Access cards usage

The access card has information displayed on one side and is generally blank or has some decoration on one side. Useful important display is only on one side of the card. Now always keeping the right side of the card up, such that the information on it is visible becomes an added task. The card owner has to keep a check and flip the card again and again. This is an extra effort needed from the user due to shortcomings in the design. This has to be avoided.

Ideally, ID tags should always face the right way. Thus for the person wearing it, does not have to flip it to face it all the time. Whenever the user is wearing the tag without any effort, the information on the card should be shown. One way of achieving this goal is printing card on both sides.
