MixerLid Operation

While operating the mixer, the snaps act as locking device. But these snaps are not sufficient enough to hold the lid of mixer jar. It needs an external force for keeping it on the jar as the operator has to push it by one hand. This keeps the operator engaged unnecessarily.

MixerLid Operation

During the mixture oprations, the snaps as locking device on the jar-lid are not sufficient enough to hold it. It needs an external force for keeping it on the jar. This keeps the operator engaged unnecessarily. Even though its not required to hold it in position and a separate jar is provided for this purpose, due to the requirement the user uses in his own way.

In any rotating object there is always a centrifugal force involved which tends to throw the object outwards. If you run mixer [not mixture], in noload [ie. empty] conditions, the mixer will tend to rotate on its axis and finally fall over the counter. So you need to hold it while it is working. Also if run mixer continuosly for a longer period, [without holding it, you'll go and chat with neighbours] the motor will burn badly. Any mixer or hair dryer can run only for few minutes with any laod, by Design.

Well said Suresh. I was about to post the exact same comment here. The non locking lid is a feature than a design flaw.

If the mixer manufacturers start shipping mixers with llocking lids, they will also have to ship the mixers with a 20kg metal bottom that can counter-balance the centrifugal force :)
