Confusion with the timings

The problem area is the departure time is mentioned in 24 hour format. So if the train is at 12:25 mid-night on 5th October, the time on the ticket is 00:25 dated 6th Oct. Many people have missed trains because of this reason. Even, adding am/pm doesn't help solve the confusion much.
